What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction, relaxation and also promotes healing. Reiki can never cause harm as it is guided by the God-consciousness. It always knows what a horse or person needs and will adjust itself to create the effect that is appropriate for them.

Reiki and Horses.

Equine Reiki is beneficial to all horses and ponies no matter what size or breed, they can benefit from Equine Reiki Healing.

Horses like all animals are very receptive creatures and can feel the Reiki energy flowing through them. They understand that this energy will help them and so are very accepting of it taking as much as their body needs at that time, moving away once they sense that have received enough.
Reiki is a channeling of positive energy passing from a practitioners hands into the horse moving directly to where it is needed most.
Reiki is a non-invasive form of healing and therefore no pressure is used. The hands of the practitioner may be gently laid on to the horse's body or may be held a few inches above the Aura. Reiki is a powerful and natural way to kick starting your horse's own body into self-healing.

How can Reiki help my horse?

Equine Reiki helps to accelerate the horses own healing system. You may see that wounds may be healed more quickly, recovery from an operation is more rapid as well as recovery from muscle strains, back pain and disease or any illness.
Reiki also works on the emotional side of the horse. It can help in easing the mind of a troubled horse, helping in cases of stress, anxiety, excitability or depression. It can also help in the performance of a horse that is suffering from past trauma and events, which he/she may still be trying to deal with. Reiki gives the horses immune system a vital boost and all horses including accident prone ones can become more balanced within themselves.

Equine Reiki Healing is not a substitute for Veterinary advice or care.

Reiki for your horse or pony is not going to reverse severe degeneration or damage to organs or tissue as all living things have a time span for the physical life to end. Nor should equine healing be used with the sole intent to win more ribbons or medals for you and your horse. Improvements to the feeling of general well being may well result in increased success but it should not be the primary reason for healing.

How may my horse react to an Equine Reiki treatment?

Humans can cry and horses cannot, yet they feel the same emotions and the horse seems so grateful for the release of turbulent energy that healing offers. Horses are more sensitive to energies and healing than many human beings, they are more in tune with natural forces.
Horses love healing and it is such an easy thing to offer for the benefit of the horses inner peace, such a small part of our time, yet such a dramatic and welcome experience for them. Horses are given the Reiki healing standing up and sometimes can become light headed if the energy is strong.

Horses can take several minutes to recover from this deep relaxed state and the changes can carry on taking place for quite a while after the actual healing session has finished. In some horses, after the release of deep rooted trauma, this period can last several days. This is way it is requested that horses be allowed to relax on the day that they have been given the healing.
